The Budos Band - VII (Indies)

Two years after the release of the Frontier's Edge EP, Budos Band returns with their first album since Long in the Tooth in 2020. Simply titled VII, this new album showcases them doing what they do best: creating hypnotic and vibrant rhythms that both threaten and captivate in equal measure.

Produced by Budos Band guitarist Tom Brenneck, VII includes 11 new tracks that draw from the band's wide range of influences (so wide, it even stretches to Turkish psych and Zambian rock), sounding like only Budos can. It’s music for relaxing, for late-night journeys, and for alternate mental states: a captivating blend of mystery and rhythm. VII was recorded in California and is the first Budos Band LP released on Diamond West, the independent label founded in 2023 by Tankel and Brenneck. It is also the band’s first album to feature instrumental contributions from percussionist Rich Tarrana, who was previously part of Frightnrs. A record that opens new sonic spaces while staying true to the intuitive and unique musicality that made them a sensation.
