Surma– Alla

Surma invites Noiserv, Ana Deus, Cabrita, Victor Torpedo, João Hasselberg, Pedro Melo Alves, Selma Uamusse, Angelica Salvi, Joana Guerra, and Ecstasya for "Alla," and it's as if the world is interpreting her as much as she is interpreting the world.

In this sense, this titular "Alla" is laden with a crucial authorial ambiguity, similar to those composers who today are beginning to co-author their creations with the planet, but in this case, not merely out of moral imperative. One might say it's a game of shattered mirrors where the innumerable ethical nuances of the individual find their equivalent in the infinite aesthetic manifestations of the collective, and vice versa. Songs in chiaroscuro, baroque filigree here, brutish bas-relief there, folklore yet to be inventoried, and a free voice that brings everything else into harmony.
