Russian Circles have spent more than two decades refining a sound that stands apart in heavy instrumental music, built not on hit songs or trends but on consistency, ambition and atmosphere. On Nine, the Chicago trio push further into that territory, delivering seven expansive compositions that balance crushing weight with careful detail.

Now living across the United States, guitarist Mike Sullivan, drummer Dave Turncrantz and bassist/keyboardist Brian Cook remain connected through a collaborative process that has long defined the band. The album reflects that distance, using its vast, cinematic scope to explore ageing, change and perseverance.
