Orchestra Baobab - Made In Senegal

Orchestra Baobab return with Made In Senegal, their first studio album in almost a decade. Recorded entirely in Dakar, it celebrates home, heritage, love and resilience while reaffirming the sound that has made the group one of Africa's most enduring musical institutions.

Formed more than 50 years ago as the house band at Dakar's Baobab Club, Orchestra Baobab blend Afro-Cuban rhythms with Wolof griot traditions, mbalax, Congolese rumba and jazz. The current line-up unites longtime members with a younger generation, keeping the band's legacy alive.

New songs sit alongside fresh interpretations, including the Rudy Gomis composition 'Togne Bakhoul', Thione Seck's 'Tioro Bye Samba', the regional tribute 'Casamance' and anniversary anthem 'Baobab 50 Ans'. Rooted in Senegal and full of warmth, Made In Senegal is a fitting addition to the Orchestra Baobab catalogue.
