CMAT - Euro-Country (Indies)

It feels almost unreal that it's only been five years since CMAT arrived, as we approach the release of her third album, EURO-COUNTRY. This acronymed star, nominated for the BRIT, Mercury, and Ivor awards, feels like she has always been part of our culture, drawing fans in with her moving melodies and humour through her ability to combine conflicting themes and moods: heartfelt drama and self-deprecation.

Country music, amplified and reinvented. Blended with classic indie and assertive soul-pop, defying the music industry's urge to box artists into a single genre. There isn’t just a noticeable tonal shift here—EURO-COUNTRY also marks a major creative leap forward. There's a sense of determination, of urgency, of “gather round and listen.” And her themes range from reevaluating where you come from (geographically, metaphorically) and the impact of economics on a small country, to the attention that fame brings (not all of it good) and being a woman in the music industry.
