Debuting in 2009, "Cacique 97" is the self-titled debut album by the band, which became one of the first Lusophone groups to recreate the Afrobeat style, popularized by seminal artists such as Fela Kuti, Tony Allen, and others.

The album blends the vibrant energy of Afrobeat with local and global influences, reflecting a unique fusion of sounds and rhythms. This record became a landmark in Portuguese music and is considered one of the first expressions of Afrobeat in Portugal.
