Alan Vega - Live at Maxs Kansas City

Recorded at New York’s Max’s Kansas City on 18 July 1980, Live at Max’s Kansas City catches Alan Vega just weeks before his self-titled solo debut.

Joined by guitarist Phil Hawk, Vega throws rockabilly and blues against tape manipulation, electronic noise and raw performance, with the raucous crowd becoming part of the action. Unearthed by Liz Lamere and Jared Artaud from the Vega Vault, the recording captures the Suicide frontman at a crucial point in his solo career, pushing his stripped-back songs into wild, confrontational territory.
