    She holds a degree in History (University of Porto, 1976), a Master's degree in Population History (1995), and a PhD in Modern and Contemporary History of Portugal (2001) from the University of Minho, where she was a researcher and lecturer. She has postgraduate qualifications in Library Science, Archival Studies, and Documentation from the University of Coimbra (1979) and in School Administration from the Polytechnic Institute of Porto (1992), and a postdoctoral degree from the Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra (2009). She is the author of books, articles in national and international journals, conferences, and communications in the areas of Social and Historical Studies, Educational Sciences, Documentation, and Information. She was a researcher and member of the board and scientific committee of NEPS (University of Minho) and is a researcher at CITCEM — Transdisciplinary Research Centre "Culture, Space and Memory" (Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto). She is referenced in the Bibliography of the District of Bragança — Series Writers, Journalists, Artists by Hirondino Fernandes, vol. IV (2012). Part of her research focuses on Senian studies, having published books and works on Jorge de Sena and Mécia de Sena, collaborated on the Brazilian website "Ler Jorge de Sena", from UFRJ, and in a collective work from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
