Threatened by her landlord, Margarida decides to lock herself inside the closet of her apartment in Graça and rig the outside with explosives. In a statement published on her social media profile, she explains: “My name is Margarida Faustino and I am seventy-two years old. I have lived in this apartment in Graça for thirty-three years. I am a widow and have been retired from public service for eight years and four months. For some time now, my landlord has been threatening to evict me and has made life in the building impossible. He told me I had two choices. Either I would pay a rent of one thousand two hundred euros, or I would have to leave. Now, I cannot pay a rent of that amount. (…) As he doesn't seem to be changing his mind, I decided to lock myself in the old china cupboard in my house and rig the floor around it with small explosives. That's where I am.

From that moment on, you could say, anything is possible.”
