The Go-Betweens - Liberty Belle and the Black Diamond Express

The Go-Betweens' fourth album is widely regarded as one of the defining records of the 1980s. Record Collector called it "one of the greatest albums of the decade," while Uncut described it as the band's "perfect fourth album." Self-produced, it found the group taking complete creative control, rejecting drum machines and outside interference in favour of a warm, organic sound that expanded on Before Hollywood with richer, more adventurous instrumentation. As drummer Lindy Morrison put it, "Every single song is a classic."
