Say She She - Cut & Rewind

New York-based punk-chic disco funk band Say She She returns with Cut & Rewind, their hyperpolitical, dance-floor-crushing third album, the first on their new label, drink sum wtr (aja monet, THEY).

Led by the vocal trio of Piya Malik, Sabrina Mileo Cunningham, and Nya Gazelle Brown, the group evokes precursors like Minnie Ripperton, Rotary Connection, Liquid Liquid, and ESG. On Cut & Rewind, they expand their stylistic reach, incorporating elements of Lonnie Liston Smith and the Lijadu Sisters into their sonic palette, while also drawing inspiration from contemporary artists like the Lambrini Girls and Amyl and the Sniffers to create a psychedelic soundscape filled with pulsating disco beats, whistle tones, and heavenly trio harmonies.
