Psychic Ills - Dins (Indies)

Limited reissue on colored vinyl.

Psychic Ills’ 2006 debut Dins stretches their psychedelic rock into long, hypnotic forms built from circular rhythms, whirring guitars, reverb and drone. Recorded by Charles Burst, the album combines studio improvisation and unconventional instrumentation with a hefty rock attack. The sprawling ‘I Knew My Name’ and ‘Another Day Another Night’ lean into the influence of Sonic Youth and The Velvet Underground, while ‘Electric Life’ settles into a more blissed-out haze. A heady introduction to the band’s exploratory psych sound.
