MAQUINA. are a Lisbon-based trio known for the intense energy of their live shows, blending punk and dance music crowds into euphoric, collective experiences. After more than 250 performances and a tour in Brazil, they return with their second album, BODY TRANSMISSION—a relentless, high-energy record that fuses noise rock, metal, and industrial punk.
Unlike their debut PRATA (which leaned heavily on improvisation), this new release focuses on tighter, more structured songwriting while maintaining a constant, driving momentum. The result is a dancefloor-oriented album that feels heavy, intense, and “always on.”
Drawing from influences ranging from thrash metal to techno/EBM, the record combines aggressive riffs, pounding beats, and expressive vocals, while also addressing political and social themes. On tracks like “agony,” the band critiques political manipulation in a turbulent global context.
