Idles – Joy As An Act Of Resistance (Deluxe ed.)

On their second studio album, IDLES establish themselves as one of the most compelling bands in contemporary British post-punk, delivering an explosive combination of abrasive guitars, driving rhythms and direct, provocative lyrics.

Retaining the raw energy of punk, the band tackles subjects such as toxic masculinity, nationalism, immigration, social inequality and the importance of emotional vulnerability, championing empathy, inclusion and love as forms of resistance. Tracks such as “Danny Nedelko”, “Never Fight a Man with a Perm”, “Samaritans” and “I'm Scum” showcase the political and emotional force of a record that balances aggression, humour and infectious optimism. This special Deluxe Edition, released in 2023 to mark the album's fifth anniversary, features 180-gram vinyl, a gold glitter-finish die-cut gatefold sleeve and eight double-sided inserts containing 16 reproductions of original artworks.
