Hugo Danin presents Sonologues, an album in which the drums take centre stage, engaging in spontaneous dialogues with some of Portugal’s most gifted instrumentalists.

Recorded live, without scores or pre-set schemes, this work captures creative risk, immediacy and sonic freedom. Each track features a unique pairing—drums & vibraphone, drums & accordion, drums & guitar, among others—exploring texture, rhythm and melody in a genre-defying approach. The result is an intense journey through improvisation, where the instrument frees itself from constraints and finds its own voice.
