Dirty Three – Love Changes Everything

Love Changes Everything marks Dirty Three’s return after a 12-year hiatus.

Released in June 2024 by Bella Union and Drag City, the album was recorded over five days at Headgap Studios in Melbourne and later completed remotely. Structured as a six-part instrumental suite, the record flows continuously, driven by Warren Ellis’s expressive violin, Mick Turner’s guitar and bass textures, and Jim White’s dynamic drumming. The second track features a rare vocal from Ellis, while the final two pieces deliver some of the most emotionally powerful moments in the band’s catalogue. Blending tension, lyricism and controlled improvisation, Love Changes Everything stands as a mature and deeply affecting return from one of the most distinctive instrumental trios of the past decades.
