Dinosaur Jr – Bug

Bug, the third studio album by Dinosaur Jr., was released in 1988 and is widely regarded as a landmark of American alternative rock.

With raw production, distorted guitars, and J Mascis’s laid-back vocal style, the album captures the essence of what would come to define much of the indie scene in the 1990s. Tracks like “Freak Scene” became anthems for a generation seeking something between grunge and noise rock. Bug also marks the end of an era for the band, as it was the last album to feature bassist Lou Barlow before his departure. Intense, melodic, and noisy, this record remains a touchstone of the genre.
