Bezbog – Dazhbog

"Dazhbog" is the second album by Portuguese duo Bezbog, composed of David Machado and Dora Vieira, released in 2022 by Favela Discos.

Structured as a continuous suite of eight tracks, the album draws on Slavic mythology, invoking the solar deity Dazhbog and its cycles of light, darkness and rebirth. Using saxophone, trumpet, flutes, cavaquinho, samplers and amplified objects, the duo creates dense, ritualistic soundscapes with a highly textural quality. The vinyl edition, featuring a printed inner sleeve, highlights the album’s handcrafted and physical presence, positioning it as a work of contemporary sonic art.
