Ana Lua Caiano - Devagar Que A Vida É Curta

On Devagar Que A Vida É Curta, Ana Lua Caiano explores mortality, exhaustion, transformation and our uneasy relationship with time.

Its title comes from a phrase used by her grandfather: “Slowly, as life is short.” Bagpipes, flutes, adufe and bombo meet synths, choral voices and prepared objects, with sewing machines and other domestic machinery supplying rhythms. Caiano pushes her vocals from fragile passages into distorted, obsessive territory, drawing Portuguese musical traditions into bold electronic experimentation.
