Adrianne Lenker & Buck Meek - a-sides and besides

Before forming Big Thief, Adrianne Lenker and Buck Meek met in New York City and began writing and touring together.

Their musical chemistry brought Meek’s wiry, unpredictable guitar playing alongside Lenker’s affecting vocals and intimate songwriting. Recorded in 2014, a-sides and b-sides collects two EPs originally released under the name Buck and Anne. These warm, stripped-back acoustic songs offer a fascinating glimpse of their early partnership, capturing the close musical connection that would eventually blossom into Big Thief. Originally released on Saddle Creek, the recordings now find a home on 4AD.
