The Jesus & Mary Chain – Original Album Series

This box set brings together five of the most important albums in the career of The Jesus and Mary Chain, the Scottish band who left a lasting mark on alternative rock with their distinctive combination of distorted guitars, pop melodies and dark atmospheres.

Spanning almost a decade of musical evolution, from 1985 to 1994, the collection traces their journey from the noise pop and shoegaze textures of their early recordings to more accessible, melodic and alternative rock sounds. Highlights include “Just Like Honey” and “Never Understand” from the seminal Psychocandy, “April Skies” and “Happy When It Rains” from Darklands, “Head On” and “Blues from a Gun” from Automatic, “Reverence” from Honey's Dead, and “Sometimes Always”, featuring Hope Sandoval, from Stoned & Dethroned. An excellent opportunity to discover or revisit the work of one of the most influential and original bands in British alternative music. This edition brings together five complete albums across a 5-CD box set.
