Coro dos Tribunais is the first album José Afonso released after the April 1974 Revolution.

Recorded in London with arrangements by Fausto Bordalo Dias and contributions from several Portuguese musicians, the album features songs written before the revolution, conveying a tone of resistance and reflection rather than immediate celebration. Its sound blends African rhythms with traditional and political elements, combining social critique, surrealist poetry, and adapted texts by Bertolt Brecht.
