Cocteau Twins – Treasure (digi)

One of the defining works of 1980s dream pop and atmospheric rock, featuring Elizabeth Fraser’s ethereal vocals, Robin Guthrie’s shimmering guitars and Simon Raymonde’s melodic bass lines.

Blending lush reverb, hypnotic rhythms and almost dreamlike melodies, Cocteau Twins create a sound world that is delicate, mysterious and intensely expressive. “Ivo” and “Lorelei” stand out for their energy and soaring guitars, while “Beatrix” evokes a medieval-inspired atmosphere and “Otterley” reveals a more intimate, contemplative side. “Donimo” closes the album with an expansive, immersive and celestial composition. An essential landmark in alternative music, its influence can be heard across generations of dream pop, shoegaze and atmospheric music artists.
