Uzodinma Iweala - Bestas de Lugar Nenhum

Beasts from Nowhere is the debut novel by Nigerian-born writer Uzodinma Iweala and tells the story, in the first person, of one of the many children forced to fight for nothing or for the interests of the rulers; child soldiers who are like ferocious beasts unleashed in the hands of bloodthirsty warlords. With a unique and captivating language, at once brutal and moving, the book has received numerous awards and has already been adapted for the stage in a show by Alain Platel that was performed in Lisbon as part of the Alkantara Festival 2008.
