The Rapture - Out Of the Races and Onto the Tracks (25th Anniversary Edition)
31.90€
Limited edition silver vinyl of The Rapture's classic 2001 dance-punk album, "Out Of the Races and Onto the Tracks," a seminal album of the early 2000s New York dance-punk wave that launched bands like Yeah Yeah Yeahs, MGMT, M.I.A., LCD Soundsystem, !!! and TV On the Radio.
The Rapture was formed in the spring of 1998 by Vito Roccoforte and Luke Jenner. With a keen ear for visionaries like PIL, Television, and Chrome, the band quickly gained a national reputation for their energetic and often chaotic live shows, with Jenner leaping across the stage like a frenetic acrobat while the rhythm section unleashed their signature groove, a true sonic explosion. In May 1999, the group moved to New York City. With their lineup now more solid, the band embarked on a journey through dance and pop music, incorporating influences from Chic, The Byrds, The Happy Mondays, and Timbaland into their existing sound. On the EP that followed — Out Of the Races and Onto the Tracks (2001) — The Rapture solidified their energetic and iconoclastic rock style, influenced by both dance music and post-punk.
