Marcos Trindade - Sexopatia

Sex as comfort and the ultimate social escape is a theme that has appeared before in this graphic artist’s work, but for the first time, he dedicates an entire book solely to the subject, structured in three movements.

The first is a materialization — like a 3D printer — of sexual proposals found in classified ads from Correio da Manhã, presented with surreal illustrations and caustic humor. This is followed by a “Bazaar” of sexual objects, reminiscent of the wonderfully useless Japanese inventions known as chindōgu, and ends with an anatomical catalogue in which only dissatisfaction remains. After all, the customer is NEVER happy — no matter how many "Black Fridays" there are in the world... 

Marcos Trindade was born in Coimbra in 1966. He moved to Lisbon in the 1980s, joining artistic movements born from the movida lisboeta. He works in the fields of comics and illustration. Averse to institutional commitments, he operates as an independent author and published Os Acrobatas (2015) with our now-defunct sister publishing house MMMNNNRRRG (2000–2020).
