Marcos Farrajota - Free Dub Metal Punk Hardcore Afro Techno Hip Hop Noise Electro Jazz Hauntology

Here is the third compilation of autobiographical comics by Marcos Farrajota, following Noitadas, Deprês e Bubas (2008) and Talento Local (2010), both published by Chili Com Carne in this same collection.

The new book, Free Dub Metal Punk Hardcore Afro Techno Hip Hop Noise Electro Jazz Hauntology, brings together scattered material from various publications — including the DVD book from the 15th Steel Warriors Rebellion Metalfest, as well as several zines and magazines like Cru, Prego (Brazil), Pangrama, Stripburger (Slovenia), and even anthologies from countries starting with “S,” such as Sweden and Serbia! The comics found here are increasingly less about mundane episodes, as seen in Farrajota's earlier works, and give way to critical essays on Portuguese culture and underground subcultures… Perhaps that’s why it’s only now that the legendary strips from the Não 'tavas lá!? series — a critique of concerts attended by the author — are compiled, originally published in the iconic Underworld: Entulho Informativo and various other zines and magazines. These strips feature famous bands like Type O Negative or Peaches, cult acts like Puppetmastaz, Repórter Estrábico, or Dälek, and some near-obscurities like Dr. Salazar (who?). They also recount conferences (like Jorge Lima Barreto’s), museums, and sound installations (such as MIM in Brussels or MACBA in Barcelona), reflecting not only an eclectic taste but, above all, a deep love for music.
