Carlos Taibo - O Nosso Porto

This is a personal essay about Porto, revealing some of the author's desires, perhaps even obsessions. Within its pages, the city's urban development is explored, its internal divisions, its religious and civil heritage, the weight of the river and the sea, the protests that arose in its streets and cafes, the unsettling touristification of those times, the world of writers and bookstores, and Galicia's relationship with a space that is, for many reasons, Galician. The reader is not presented with a city guide: they are presented with an exercise in love that does not hide its caution.
